Alloy wheels
Steel is the most common metal used for car tires, but alloy wheels
actually have several advantages. Since they increase the performance
of the vehicle, they have become associated with luxury, sporty or expensive
cars.
What are the advantages of alloy wheels?
• They are usually lighter than steel tires
• Better heat conductors (improves heat dissipation from brakes)
• More stylish than steel
• Improves steering and speed of the car
Despite their popularity there are a couple disadvantages of alloy
wheels. Alloys are generally more expensive than steel and they can
corrode faster if they are not maintained.
